Mansfield Acquires TransMontaigne
Gainesville, GA - Mansfield, a leading nationwide provider of fuel supply, distribution and logistics services, announced that it has acquired the commercial and industrial business unit of TransMontaigne Product Services Inc. responsible for the provision of supply chain management services for the physical delivery of gasoline and diesel fuel downstream of the truck loading rack (the "SMS Business"). Mansfield is opening a Denver office, retaining the current TransMontaigne SMS Business team and expanding the operation with additional resources from its Gainesville corporate office. This new Denver group will serve as the customer service center for the existing TransMontaigne SMS Business customers as well as an operations base for Mansfield's Western U.S. growth initiatives.
"We have long admired TransMontaigne's ability to execute a nationwide fuel delivery service as well as their ability to resolve customers' most difficult operational and risk management challenges," stated Michael Mansfield, CEO of Mansfield Oil Company. "These existing capabilities complement the nationwide supply and distribution footprint Mansfield has built over the past fifty years and will allow us to make continued progress with a fast growing part of our business—servicing national accounts in the commercial and industrial sector."
Randy Larson, CEO of TransMontaigne, commented, "We worked very hard to find a strategic partner who could support and expand on the foundation of supply chain services and fuel supply solutions we had developed for our SMS Business customers. Mansfield's unique combination of value added solutions and national fuel supply capabilities ensure that our SMS Business will continue to receive the highest levels of fuel supply and logistics support available in the market today."
Mansfield's newly acquired commercial and industrial customer base includes some of the largest companies in the waste, food distribution, trucking, and package delivery industries. "These customers face complicated challenges in today's volatile fuel market and require a nationwide, comprehensive solution to their fuel supply and site management needs," stated J. Alexander, President and COO for Mansfield Oil. Mansfield provides fuel supply, distribution, and logistics services in 49 states, and operates a unique single source solution for customers' full truck load, less than truckload, mobile refueling, and fleet fueling needs.
Todd Bruck, Director of Procurement and Supply Chain Management for Transportation Services at Allied Waste, is one of the customers affected by the acquisition. He said, "This deal creates a win-win for us by combining the capabilities of our largest fuel supplier with those of our most innovative and services oriented supplier. The Mansfield program allows Allied Waste to continue the rapid evolution of its operating divisions' fueling programs across the country."
