Petris Technology Maps 4,000 Miles of Coral Energy Right-of-Way
HOUSTON July 26, 2000 - Petris Technology Inc. has completed the mapping of 4,000 miles of pipeline right-of-way using a combination of color digital aerial video imagery and a new, high resolution digital camera system that generates digital, ortho photography. In addition, Petris' GIS staff helped build a population density database along the right-of-way using the ArcView software to display the location of the pipeline, housing structures and other key pipeline features such as valve and meter locations.
Petris acquired new georeferenced color digital imagery, which was mosaiced by Petris, so that Coral Energy, Inc. can view entire right-of-way quickly and easily on a desktop or laptop computer using ArcView and the Petris developed data sets. Future projects may include the linking of the pipeline database to a One-Call application that will assist Coral Energy with emergency response.
