Stratos Announces Expansion into Asia-Pacific Region

(Toronto, Ontario) – Stratos Global Corporation announced today that it has formed a new business unit focused on delivering the company's extensive portfolio of remote communications solutions to customers in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The group will be lead by Michael P. Smith, the former head of mobile satellite operations for Telstra Corporation Ltd. and will initially consist of employees with substantial experience in mobile satellite sales and marketing. All members of the group will be "hand-picked" by Mr. Smith because of their strong ties to distributors and end-user customers in key vertical markets such as the Maritime, Government and Military and Corporate/Industrial market segments.
