Wurldtech Provides Testing Accreditation For Siemens CERT Lab

Achilles Communication Certification Ensures Siemens Brand Loyalty

Wurldtech Security Technologies, leaders in cyber security solutions for embedded devices and critical infrastructure, and Siemens ProductCERT (Cyber Emergency Readiness Team) Lab, as part of Siemens Corporate Technology, recently announced that Siemens has been accredited by Wurldtech to perform Achilles Communication Certification testing.

Achilles Communication Certification, an internationally recognized certification, provides a robustness and security benchmark for embedded device used in critical industrial infrastructure. This program assesses the network robustness of industrial devices and certifies that they meet a formal and comprehensive set of requirements and conformance.

“By incorporating the tests certified by Wurldtech, we are progressing with increased security of our soon to be Achilles certified products,” said Thomas Brandstetter, program manager ProductCERT at Siemens.  “The ability to test directly within our lab environment allows us to deliver more secure products faster to the market and assures Siemens customers that our offerings are at compliance levels with common industry benchmarking methods that will assist them in avoiding downtime due to common security issues.”

Siemens customers, the owners and operators of critical infrastructure such as oil & gas, utility, and smart grid, look to the Achilles Communication Certification as proof of the security and robustness of Siemens’ products.

As a key component of risk reduction strategies, this security compliance supports correct and safe facility operation while meeting new government and industry regulations such as NERC – CIP and ISA 99.

“Our goal is to help industrial stakeholders better identify and mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities in critical infrastructures,” said Wurldtech vice president of Marketing, Greg Speakman.  “Wurldtech is proud to provide Siemens ProductCERT Lab with the Achilles Communication Certification accreditation, ensuring that its control systems have stronger resilience against common attacks in place.”
