CoreWater Launches Mobile Water Treatment Unit At Denver Julesberg Basin Fracturing Site

Denver-based CoreWater recently launched its first highly mobile water treatment unit based on proven technology that cleans and recycles wastewater from oil and gas drilling operations. The unit is up and running in the energy-rich Denver Julesberg Basin, the company announced.

“This is great news for the energy industry both economically and environmentally,” said Ben Earl, a CoreWater principal. “Our unique on-location technology goes to the source to remove suspended solids, contaminants and scalants from flowback and produced water – with zero liquid waste. All the treated water can be reused for hydraulic fracturing and other well operations, which reduces the costs and environmental impacts associated with water management.”

CoreWater’s mobile units can be rapidly moved from site to site to meet changes in demand. By using the company’s technology directly at the wellhead, operators avoid the handling costs of transporting wastewater to disposal sites. Also, by recycling the water, the costs of fresh water logistics for future fracturing can be drastically reduced.
