Pulse Structural Monitoring To Showcase Enhanced DrillASSURE Real-Time Monitoring And Data Acquisition System At Conference
Pulse Structural Monitoring, an Acteon company, will present its DrillASSURE system for enhanced real-time monitoring and data acquisition for wellhead and conductor fatigue at the SPE/IADC Drilling Conference and Exhibition in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 5–7 March 2013.
The DrillASSURE system is designed to ensure the structural integrity of the drilling riser and wellhead system. The system measures riser and riser stack motion response to accurately track structural integrity of the riser and wellhead system; offers real-time direct access to the riser response data without needing to recover the instruments; and enables operators to view and analyse information instantly.
The DrillASSURE real-time monitoring and data acquisition tool offers several significant benefits. It mitigates risk of damage to the riser and wellhead during riser installation and retrieval and tracks fatigue loading on the wellhead and conductor thereby extending asset life. The system also improves understanding of the relationship between riser response and environmental loading, thus increasing confidence and assurance to maximize drilling uptime. In addition, it helps drillers reduce unnecessary costs and operational downtime by optimising maintenance and inspection activities and provides an important operational safety tool, supplying critical information needed to improve decision making.
“In the current environment and with offshore operations venturing into increasingly harsh environments, the focus on safety during offshore drilling has never been greater,” said Pulse Structural Monitoring managing director Richard Kluth. “Operators are increasingly looking towards real-time monitoring as a way of mitigating risk and maintaining the condition of their assets. This new tool comes as part of our modular DRILLASSURE system and will help us to maintain our position as the market leader in providing monitoring systems for offshore drilling operations.”
Pulse Structural Monitoring’s sister companies 2H Offshore, Claxton and Subsea Riser Products will also be attending the exhibition.
