Schneider Electric Extends Universal I/O Capability For Foxboro And Triconex

New Intelligent Marshalling offerings improve flexibility, reliability and efficiency of control and safety system design and operations

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, has updated its Foxboro Intelligent Marshalling solution. The new Intelligent Marshalling FBM248 offering, now with redundancy capabilities, eliminates the costly and labor-intensive marshalling process traditionally required for control systems and further enhances the reliability and efficiency of control system design and operation. Likewise the Tricon CX compact safety system has been enhanced with the addition of the 3902X TMR universal I/O module.

Announced today at CONNECT 2016, Schneider Electric’s annual, four-day automation conference being held this year at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel, the Foxboro Evo FBM 248 and Tricon CX 3902X remove the dependency among control and safety system design and the installation of I/O systems. Universal I/O offerings for Foxboro Evo and Triconex enable process automation professionals to seamlessly adapt to last-minute I/O design changes and provide backup to eliminate the impact of any process downtime.

With its universal I/O and software-configurable modules, Intelligent Marshalling allows users to configure I/O points from anywhere in the plant or in the world. It also enables flexible options for future expansions and upgrades, as well as significant cost savings by reducing marshalling infrastructure, increasing I/O density per cabinet, reducing field and maintenance labor costs and drastically reducing the need for onsite replacement inventory.

The company’s Foxboro Intelligent Marshalling solution will be on display at booth 3B in the Expo Hall of CONNECT 2016. Conference attendees will also have access to Schneider Electric’s comprehensive portfolio of control and safety solutions, including its Tricon CX compact system, which provides enhanced safety and critical control applications in the oil and gas, power, refining, chemicals, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Launched at Schneider Electric’s Global Automation Conference in 2015, the Tricon CX will experience an upgrade in the coming months to incorporate the universal I/O capabilities with the Tricon CX 3902X Safety Intelligent Marshalling module.
