Profile: Surface Processing Facilities By Fike Corporation
The primary activity in surface processing facilities is separating the produced fluids into streams of oil, gas, and water for sale and disposal. This separation is accomplished largely by gravity segregation, drawing the lighter gas off the top of the separator vessels, the heavier water off the bottom, with only the oil remaining.
Compax Upgrade Improves Performance Of HDS Filtration Vessels By Pentair Separation Systems
Recently, Pentair Porous Media conducted a performance demonstration at a northeast refiner with our COMPAX® elements. In order to obtain a true barometer of the impact associated with Pentair Porous Media’s COMPAX® technology, refinery personnel approved a Pentair Porous Media COMPAX upgrade for the HDS-A vessel, while continuing operations with the conventional technology at HDS-B for comparative analysis.

Vacuum trucks are often used to remove water around sub-surface pipes (or any type of underground equipment) in the oil and gas industry to conduct maintenance. Quite often, this water is contaminated with hydrocarbons (and potentially entrained H2S), and there is an inherent risk of gas release when the water is being moved. In the case of a gas release, the truck itself would present a source of ignition.
The FPD580 series is a range of stack gas flow metering solutions that, when combined with a CEMS analyzer, forms a complete CEMS package for the measurement of mass flow rate of pollutants into the environment.
