Strong Relationships Lead To Repeat Cat G3600 Engine Sales In Europe

For the third time in the last four years, a German engineering firm has selected G3600 Cat gas compression engines for its latest project. PSE Engineering GmbH recently purchased a Cat G3608 unit—featuring advanced ADEM A4 technology—from Cat dealer Zeppelin Power Systems. PSE plans to package the Cat engine with an Ariel compressor for use in a gas-gathering application. In 2012 and 2014, the company purchased several Cat G3616 units for gas storage projects in the Czech Republic.

“Many of our customers in Europe are highly technical OEMs, and our European dealers have done an excellent job forging strong relationships with these companies,” said Shane Singarayer, Caterpillar Oil & Gas account manager. “In this case, the oil and gas team at Zeppelin partnered with PSE Engineering to work out the commercial and technical details required to bring Cat power to this project.”

The G3608 engine purchased by PSE Engineering delivers 2500HP at 1000 RPM, and offers expanded fuel flexibility, additional power and greater altitude and ambient temperature capabilities. Its ADEM A4 electronic control module manages fuel delivery and provides robust engine control for quick, reliable response to varying application conditions.

To date, Cat G3600 engines for gas compression have logged 140 million operating hours worldwide. Manufactured in Lafayette, Indiana, they’re built using the proven Cat diesel platform and stand up to the most demanding natural gas applications while providing reduced maintenance, longer overhaul intervals and virtually no downtime.
