Taking place at the Intercontinental Regency Hotel in Manama from the 28-30 September, under the patronage of the National Oil and Gas Authority of Bahrain and officially supported by the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), the second edition of Operational Excellence Middle East will address key focus points on the development and implementation of Operational Excellence Management Systems. Looking at the examples of International Oil Companies and exploring how these existing models are being adapted, and developed, by the region’s National Oil Companies. In addition the forum will address the future of OEMS, how to ensure continuous improvement and the concept of Operational Intelligence. Pre Conference Master Class: Led by Gary Downs, Former Lean Master Technical Authority, Shell, now Oil & Gas Lead, Secora the focus will be on the practical approaches to increasing productivity, while reducing waste. The session will utilise interactive exercises alongside multiple cast studies to demonstrate successful approaches to gain sustainable benefits. Q&A sessions will address the challenges currently being experienced highlighting solutions and new approaches. Day One: The Official Opening Address will be given by HE Sheik Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and Minister in charge of Oil and Gas Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain. This will be followed by a senior level panel discussion on International Industry Operational Excellence Models highlighting the BAPCO and Chevron experience. The day then looks at Operational Excellence, Risk Management and EHS Governance before addressing how technology can be leveraged to aide Operational Excellence Systems. Day Two: The morning of Day two will address the three key focus areas of Operational Excellence implementation: leadership, change and people management. The second half of the day looks at key industrial drivers for Operational Excellence and that is asset integrity, reliability and maintenance.
