The Behavourial Based Safety & Leadership programme has been set up to deal with the people (human behaviour) aspects around technical Risk Management Systems. It is to provide the basics and to promote a culture in which people act according to the spirit of the Management System even when details are not explicitly described in this system to gain consistently good performance. Staff at different levels in the organisation have different roles. The Behavourial Based Safety & Leadership programme contains a toolkit intended to help organisations to improve their HSE performance by: 1.Leading the way – the ‘route to the top’ of the HSE culture ladder 2.Providing the process and tools to get everyone involved and to facilitate behavioural change –the necessary components of a solution The Behavourial Based Safety & Leadership Toolkit enables you to create a truly proactive and generative approach to HSE management to create a consistently good HSE performance. The workshop will explain: •How the Risk Management System marries with Culture to achieve a consistently good performance. •The history, theories and basic academic models (e.g. human behaviour model) behind the Behavourial Based Safety & Leadership programme. •Basics of the culture change process and especially the role of leadership in the process. •The Behavourial Based Safety & Leadership toolkit, when and where it should be used, and how to use the toolkit.
