Marine is a specialist area of insurance, with a huge amount of history and tradition that set it apart from all other classes of insurance. This course seeks to not only instruct on the different types of marine insurance coverage, such as cargo, hull and liability, but also on the maritime industries that insurance is there to protect, so the course also explains how the various parties in the maritime world operate, giving a unique insight into risk management and issues with the cargoes carried and the vessels employed, to give the attendees a broad and practical understanding of both the maritime industry and the risk management tool of marine insurance. Workshop Activities The course includes lectures and group exercises, as well as case studies and interactive discussions. On a number of current issues, there are no definitive answers, so delegates are encouraged to “brainstorm” and discuss options and possible solutions.
