Fike announced recently it has received CE Marking on its Slim Line Detonator product, part of Fike's specialized line of energetic devices that work with oil and gas downhole operations. The GB Explosives Notified Body (ENB), which operates within the Health and Safety Laboratory, offers an independent, specialized technical service in the assessment and certification (CE Marking) of explosives within the scope of the European Directive 93/15/EEC.

Fike's Slim Line Detonator is a device typically used in Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) operations to initiate the detonation chain of perforating guns for the completion of oil and gas wells. Fike's Slim Line Detonator can be used as an alternative to standard percussion initiators, especially in smaller firing heads.

"The addition of the Slim Line Detonator is an exciting compliment to our perforating tool energetics product line, explained Brent Hanson, Fike Global Product Manager for Oil and Gas Products. "Our efforts to obtain the CE Marking, demonstrate our commitment to engineering the finest energetics products on a global basis. In addition to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the European Economic Area (EEA) and other countries recognize ENB and the CE Marking as the standard around the world. We have worked diligently to obtain this approval."
