Houston Photographer Exhibits The Offshore World

Local photographer Mieko Mahi will exhibit "The Offshore World" at Silver Street Studios at 2000 Edwards Street, Suite 308, in Houston, on two days, Sunday, May 4 and Thursday, May 8, from 2 PM to 6:00 PM.

"The Offshore World" exhibit features dynamic views of the different equipment and technology used to explore and produce oil and gas in the Gulf of Mexico. Mieko offers her artistic view while working from helicopters and boats.

Recognized as "Big Oil's Personal Photographer", Mieko Mahi celebrates 25 years in the oil and gas industry by presenting "The Offshore World" which portrays the offshore energy sector as it really is - dynamic, fast-paced, technically advanced with an emphasis on safety and respect for the environment. 

In addition to her realistic visual communication that spotlights the technical marvels of the oil industry, Mieko also specializes in abstract photography that allows the viewer to appreciate technology in a new and creative way.

This is a must-see exhibit for area students, those interested in working offshore or companies that work within the offshore industry.

The exhibit coincides with the 2014 Offshore Technology Conference at Reliant Park from May 5-8.

Mieko Mahi is a freelance petroleum photographer and has been photographing the energy industry for the past twenty-five years. Her photographs have been featured on the covers and inside page of numerous publications including Oil and Gas Investor, Oil & Gas Journal, Offshore Engineer, World Oil, Business Week ,US World News & Report, and Popular Science.
