Oil In Water Monitor To Be Installed At The New Carlsbad Desalination Plant

Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instruments has won a contract to install an oil in water monitor for the Carlsbad Desalination Plant in Carlsbad, CA.

Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instruments has won a contract to install its TD-4100 XDC E09 oil in water monitor at the Carlsbad Desalination Plant in Carlsbad, CA. Because Desalination plants can be affected by hydrocarbons in the seawater, a monitor is required to protect the plant seawater intake. Using UV Fluorescence detection technology, the TD-4100 XDC is capable of detection oil spills at low parts per billion (ppb).

When completed, the facility will be the Western Hemisphere’s largest seawater desalination plant producing 50 million gallons of drinking water per day in North Country, San Diego. Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instruments manufactures oil in water monitors for the world’s major desalination plants, and all forms of heavy industry including oil and gas.
