PNR-12

The Penetration is used to measure the resistance which a material under specified test conditions provides against being pierced by a specifically shaped penetrator.

The Penetration is used to measure the resistance which a material under specified test conditions provides against being pierced by a specifically shaped penetrator. Beside the configuration of the penetrator used, prime importance attaches to such factors as temperature, time and load specified by the different standard methods of test. The Penetrometer PNR 12 is suitable for measurements according various "Bitumen" methods.

Needle-Penetration:
To measure the consistency of semi-solid and solid bituminous mixtures.

Rod-Penetration:
To measure the apparent viscosity (Bitumen No) of filler aggregates used in bituminous mixtures.

Cone-Penetration:
To determinate the consistency of hot-applied, fuel-resistant joint sealants with or without being immersed in fuel or oil.
