ARC CS4 Datasheet

Source: A.W. Chesterton Company

An advanced composite formulated to protect concrete surfaces from harsh chemical attack. It is normally applied at a thickness of 250 - 375 microns (10 - 15 mils) per coat in a 2 coat system. Non-shrinking, 100% solids. Color is Red.

ARC CS4 is a low viscosity, high performance composite coating that can be easily applied by brush, notched squeegee, roller, or spray equipment. ARC CS4 yields excellent barrier properties for long-term chemical resistance in immersion exposures. The cured ARC CS4 provides a high gloss surface with unrivaled adhesion to dry and wet concrete.

COMPOSITION - Polymer/Surface Modified Mineral Composite
Matrix -
wo component, modified epoxy resin structure reacted with a modified cycloaliphatic amine curing agent.
Reinforcement - A proprietary blend of surface modified mineral reinforcements designed to provide resistance to permeation and chemical attack.

Packaging
Material is available in two sizes: 4 and 16 liter kits. Each package contains two pre-measured containers (Part A and Part B). A mixing tool, brush and instructions for use are enclosed with the 4 liter kit. The 16 liter kit contains only application instructions.

Coverage
Based on a 375 µ (15 mils) thickness:
4 liters will cover 10.7 sq. meters (113 sq. ft.)
16 liters will cover 42.7 sq. meters (452 sq. ft.)
To calculate the kilograms required for a given application use the appropriate formula below:
1,2 x Area (m2) x Average Thickness (mm) = kg
2.8 x Area (ft2) x Average Thickness (inches) = kg

Chemical Resistance
Recommended for exposure to a wide variety of concentrated chemicals such as hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, potassium hydroxide, and sodium hydroxide and other chemicals. Please refer to the ARC Chemical Resistance Charts for a comprehensive list of chemicals and associated exposure ratings at ambient temperature. Post curing will improve chemical resistance; contact ARC Technical Services for elevated temperature exposure.

Suggested Uses

  • Chemical Tanks
  • Secondary Containments
  • Chemical Plant Floors
  • Sumps and Dikes
