The Environmental Partnership Grows To More Than 40 Participants, Continues Momentum On Industry Actions Lowering Emissions

The Environmental Partnership recently announced that the organization has grown by more than 50 percent since its launch last December, with 43 companies from the oil and natural gas sector now participating in the initiative.

“The phenomenal interest we have seen in The Environmental Partnership and efforts to further reduce methane emissions has exceeded our expectations,” said Matthew Todd, Program Director of the Partnership. “The initiative highlights how America’s oil and natural gas companies are working together to deliver environmental progress while providing affordable and reliable energy in the cleanest and most efficient ways.”

Participants in The Environmental Partnership have committed to implementing environmental performance programs geared toward further reducing emissions and annual reporting that will be compiled and released publicly.

“The Environmental Partnership started hosting industry workshops earlier this year and we are now participating in public conferences that expand our dialogue with experts from several fields to share ideas, learn about the latest technologies and ways to implement best practices that can reduce air emissions,” said Todd. “As we continue to grow, our participants are improving their environmental performance and responsibly developing our nation’s essential oil and natural gas reserves.”

Upcoming conferences featuring The Environmental Partnership include

• June 29: Vanessa Ryan, Senior Adviser, Shale Issues at Chevron Corporation, serves as Chair of the Steering Committee of The Environmental Partnership and is speaking at the World Gas Conference during a panel on “The Role of Voluntary Action in Methane Management.”
• July 12: John Williams, Director of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs at Apache Corporation, a participant of The Environmental Partnership, will speak on a panel discussion hosted by the Bipartisan Policy Center, “Environmental Progress in the Oil and Gas Industry: What’s Next.”
