GE Oil & Gas Names Vivek Venkatachalam As Country Leader In India

Mumbai, India - GE Oil & Gas has appointed Vivek Venkatachalam as Country Leader for India.

In his new role, Vivek will lead GE Oil & Gas' efforts to drive commercial growth in the region and expand GE's presence in the global turbomachinery market, a vital segment for the company's continued business success.

GE Oil & Gas is a world leader in supplying turbomachinery equipment for oil and gas applications, including gas turbines and compressors. Along with his overall responsibilities for GE Oil & Gas in India, Vivek will continue to manage the turbomachinery sales business in the country.

His appointment further supports GE's localization and partnership strategy and overall commitment to India. GE Oil & Gas is committed to supporting Indian customers through the local presence of an experienced and professional team. India-based engineers work in conjunction with GE's field service and global supply chain to ensure continuous support for customers in the region.

Vivek has been with the GE Oil & Gas turbomachinery sales organization since March 2005 and has led several successful sales campaigns in India with key customers such as Reliance and Cairn. He has played a significant role in building the GE Oil & Gas organization in India over the last several years.

Previously, Vivek was sales manager for GE Water. He joined that business in March 2000 after five years of project management experience outside of GE.
