American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL), a leading oil spill response and total environmental solutions provider, has been named the official Gulf Coast distributor of the Oil-CAT and Oil-CAT II Fuel Blending Systems by Clarus Technologies, announced President and CEO Kirk Headley.

Formerly there has not been an easy, cost-effective way to perform oil blending processes in a shop environment; Oil-CAT systems offer clients the ability to eliminate the cost of collecting, handling, storing and transporting used oil by automatically blending diesel fuel with used motor oil from any diesel engine oil pan.

Subsequently, the mixture is filtered and deposited into the diesel fuel tank servicing the engine. With these systems, the cost of one gallon of diesel is saved per gallon of used oil blended.

The Oil-CAT II has the same basic functions as the Oil-CAT, but offers the filtration and blending capabilities with its two-hose assembly and has the space-saving benefits of a wall mount. Both systems are available for purchase or rental through AMPOL.

“Environmentally beneficial, the Oil-CAT and Oil-CAT II will virtually eliminate off-site waste and associated liability,” said Headley. “This type of recycling also offers an environmentally friendly method of used disposal, reducing the possibility of damaging spills and the resulting clean up costs.”

As a total environmental solutions provider AMPOL focuses on restoration, going beyond response and cleanup. AMPOL employs nearly 200 employees and offers oil spill response, tank cleaning, confined space entry services, naturally occurring radioactive material (N.O.R.M.) treatment and storage, lead and asbestos abatement services, insulation services, hazardous material (HAZ-MAT) emergency cleanup, soil remediation, demolition services, marine transportation and spill equipment manufacturing.
