AMPOL Offers New EMS Service

EMS Star of Life Symbol

American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL), a leading oil spill response and total environmental solutions provider, now offers in-house Emergency Medical Services (EMS) within the state of Louisiana, announced President and CEO Kirk Headley.

The newly offered services are made available through the company’s Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) and will provide quick, advanced, on-site medical services to mitigate and reduce the loss initiated with work-related illnesses and injuries. All EMR personnel are trained and certified by the Louisiana Department of Health, Hospitals and Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.

Available services include: the use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED), airway restriction management, oxygen delivery and application, vital sign monitoring, initial and ongoing patient assessment until the arrival of advanced care, the overall assessment and treatment of medical emergencies in the pre-hospital setting, and the management of bleeding.

EMRs are also capable of responding to pediatric, obstetrical and gynecological emergencies. Additionally, AMPOL now offers on-site medical consultations and basic fundamental documentation of emergency medical care for OSHA log keeping on a project-by-project basis.

“I am proud to say that the staff and management at AMPOL are always looking for new ways to improve our service offerings,” said Headley. “This service is a win-win; it benefits our clients and community.”

As a total environmental solutions provider AMPOL focuses on restoration, going beyond response and cleanup. AMPOL employs nearly 200 employees and offers oil spill response, tank cleaning, confined space entry services, naturally occurring radioactive material (N.O.R.M.) treatment and storage, lead and asbestos abatement services, insulation services, hazardous material (HAZ-MAT) emergency cleanup, soil remediation, demolition services, marine transportation and spill equipment manufacturing.
