API Names Mason Hamilton As Vice President Of Economics And Research

The American Petroleum Institute (API) today named Mason Hamilton as Vice President of Economics and Research. Hamilton joins API from the International Energy Forum (IEF), where he served as Special Assistant to the Secretary General.

“Mason will be a tremendous asset to our organization and the industry we serve,” API Senior Vice President of Policy, Economics and Regulatory Affairs Dustin Meyer said. “His deep understanding of energy markets and ability to inform policy discussions with data-driven insights is recognized across the industry and will be key to advancing our priorities at a critical time for America’s energy future.”

Prior to his work at IEF, Hamilton was a senior advisor in the Office of Oil and Natural Gas at the U.S. Department of Energy. Hamilton also previously was a lead petroleum market analyst for the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

“API and its members are delivering solutions to meet the world’s growing need for affordable and reliable energy, while simultaneously driving innovation in the technologies we need to reduce emissions,” Hamilton said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with API’s talented team to communicate the importance of a strong, viable U.S. oil and natural gas industry.”

API was formed in 1919 as a standards-setting organization and has developed more than 800 standards to enhance operational and environmental safety, efficiency and sustainability.
