API Statement On Senate Energy And Natural Resources Committee Reconciliation Proposal

American Petroleum Institute (API) President and CEO Mike Sommers issued the following statement after the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee released its proposed markup of the 2025 reconciliation bill:

“We applaud the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources for taking bold action to restore American energy leadership. From increasing access on federal lands and waters to bringing much-needed certainty to the federal leasing process, this proposal creates a historic pathway for responsibly developing our nation’s vast oil and natural gas resources. This is the right course forward for American energy security, and we look forward to working with policymakers to get this final package across the finish line.”
