ASTM International Launches Petroleum Lab Professional Certification Program

Global standards organization ASTM International has launched a series of certifications specially designed for petroleum lab professionals.

The new program, available here (https://credentialing.training.astm.org/#/), covers such product areas as aviation fuel, motor gasoline, crude oil, diesel fuel and others. The credentials offered are meant to help both labs and individual technicians demonstrate their awareness and commitment to industry standards.

“Requested by leading oil producers and lab professionals, the new ASTM Petroleum Laboratory Professional Certification program is a cost-effective way to ensure quality assurance and evaluate and improve individual performance,” says David von Glahn, ASTM International’s director of education and credentialing.

The program covers 10 different product areas and dozens of ASTM standards. E-learning courses on all the standards involved are also available for online purchase should candidates require it. Candidates must pass a written exam and complete a performance evaluation to receive credentials.
