Ayalytical Instruments Adds Rikagu Micro-Z, An Ultra-low Sulfur Analyzer, To Petroleum Instrumentation Product Line

Micro-Z offers lower cost, ease-of-use design compared to traditional models

Ayalytical Instruments announces the Rikagu Micro-Z ultra-low sulfur (ULS) benchtop analyzer for the petroleum industry, as an exclusive addition to its product line of instrumentation to the petroleum, biofuels, lubricants and materials testing industries. With its convenient and ease-of-use design, the Micro-Z ULS, developed by analytical and industrial instrumentation leader Rikagu, employs robust fixed optics in a vacuum environment, and features a specially designed doubly curved RX-9 analyzing crystal, delivering consistent high-sensitivity measurements for reliable sulfur analysis.

Designed for ultra-low level sulfur analysis of diesel, petrol (gasoline) and other fuels, the Rigaku Micro-Z ULS features a novel design that measures both the sulfur peak and the background intensity. The ability to measure and correct for changes in background intensity delivers a better net peak intensity measurement, resulting in superior calibrations and enhanced real world precision.

Classified as a wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) analyzer, Micro-Z is a lower cost alternative compared to traditional WDXRF systems. With a lower limit of detection (LLD) of 0.3 ppm S, Micro-Z complies with ASTM 2622-10, ISO 20884 and JIS K2541-7 methods. In addition, Micro-Z produces a vibration undetectable by humans, and is free of corrosive gas, dust and particles.
