The Model 8900 is available with a new Photoionization Detector capable of analyzing down to levels more than 10 times lower than earlier versions. This takes it down into the sub-ppb range. Benzene's MDQ for instance is 30 ppt., which was previously unattainable without pre-concentration. The analyzer is configured to specifically monitor multiple toxic gases at a single or multiple locations.

Automatic calibration is ideal for unattended operation. There are a variety of industry standard outputs including network (LAN), multiple 4–20 mA or 0-20 mA, RS-485 / RS232 and multiple relays for alarm, diagnostics or user specified timed events.

Applications are pre-configured before delivery. Setup can also be accomplished via a PC running SkyChrom™ software. Data can be collected on a PC in a universal text format with user selectable data fields. Chromatograms can also be stored continuously or based on specific events. The PC can be disconnected and the analyzer will operate in a stand-alone mode. Other detectors such as a FID are also available.
