Capital Safety Awarded OSSA Accreditation
Mississauga, Ontario - Capital Safety announced recently that it has achieved Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) accreditation, and will begin offering a certified fall protection training course in June 2009 for the Alberta oil sands industry. Entitled "Fall Protection Awareness," the course will be offered onsite and at Capital Safety's training facilities in Edmonton, Alberta, and Mississauga, Ontario.
Based on OSSA's rigid standards, the 8-hour course will include instruction in CSA standards, Alberta health and safety regulations, identification of fall hazards, fall protection and rescue procedures, and use of fall protection and rescue equipment and components, among other elements. The course will be taught by Capital Safety training specialists Kenson Silverthorne, John Moore, Rick Cust and Dave Livingston, who have a combined 25 years experience in the fall protection industry.

OSSA Accredited fall protection training is a requirement for anyone working in the Fort McMurray oil sands industry.
