Claxton Engineering Services Ltd, an Acteon company, has formed a collaborative alliance with energy services firm LR Senergy to provide clients with a fully managed, technically proficient end-to-end offshore rig-based decommissioning service.

Nick Wood, VP commercial, Claxton, said, “Combining Claxton’s decommissioning expertise with LR Senergy’s wealth of well engineering and project management capabilities will provide customers with access to a unique combination of experience and skill sets for all decommissioning scenarios. LR Senergy has an enviable track record in the end-to-end management of global well engineering projects. The new alliance builds on a long-established relationship between the two companies, which have worked on a number of shared global projects including platform installations, drilling operations and field workover programmes. By working collaboratively, Claxton and LR Senergy have provided clients with tailored, fully project managed, technically innovative solutions to decommissioning challenges, which have the potential to add significant value to clients’ operations.

Chris Chilcott, subsea engineering manager – wells, LR Senergy, said, “Our collaboration with Claxton is successful because we both have highly experienced teams with a complete focus on project delivery. Both companies strive to provide clients with a tailored, technically excellent service that best suits their needs. By establishing this alliance, we can formalise this service offering to provide our customers with a range of fully managed, integrated decommissioning solutions.”

By collaborating with LR Senergy, Claxton adds rig-based decommissioning solutions to its extensive decommissioning service portfolio, which comprises platform, subsea, rigless and vessel based campaigns.

Claxton supports well decommissioning by providing risers, wellhead removal, conductor severance and solutions to overcome integrity issues with platforms or ageing well infrastructure. Claxton also offers the widest range of tooling and skills under one supplier, whilst delivering cost-saving opportunities though simultaneous operations.
