Oxford, MI - Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies offers a line of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Alternative Fuel Filters designed to remove 99.9995% of solid and liquid contaminates from the CNG and protect the compressor, gas dispenser and vehicle fuel system.
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a leading alternative to traditional fuel for the automotive industry. CNG is used in passenger vehicles, pickup trucks, in transit, and on school buses. It can be less expensive than gasoline, and is more environmentally friendly. CNG is prone to the same type of contamination that is present in traditional fuels – solids that collect during handling, water that condenses in tanks, and compressor lube oils that carry over into the CNG stream. Filtering the CNG will eliminate pipescale as well as solid and liquid contaminates generated during underground transit. Additionally, efficient operation of a CNG vehicle requires protection of the fuel system to prevent premature failing of the fuel injectors and precision components.
These filters will remove up to 99.995% of solid and liquid contaminates as small as 0.2 microns in size. Cartridges are available with either silica gel or molecular sieve desiccants to adsorb water vapor. An activated carbon media is also available to remove oil vapor.
