Typical Projects

• Developed pore pressure predictions for 3-D velocity models on offshore seismic data in the Gulf of Mexico calibrated with actual formation pressure data. Subsequent drilling verified that predicted pressures were within 0.5 ppg of actual measured pressure.
  
• Pore pressure predictions can be made using only reprocessed older 2-D data. In western Africa, pressures estimates were almost all within 0.75 ppg, the greatest variation being 1.25 ppg of actual pressure.
  
• Using client data, Petrospec developed proprietary pressure models have been developed for the South China Sea, Gulf of Thailand, the North Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico.
  
• Petrospec has participated on a number of fracture gradient modeling and buoyancy analysis projects in the Gulf of Mexico for target formations near the mud line.
