CUDD WELL CONTROL IN INDIA

HOUSTON, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Cudd Well Control was contracted to assist in well control activities for an offshore gas well blowout that occurred in Bombay High Field, off India's west coast. Cudd Well Control's six-man team, led by senior well control specialist, Mark Mazzella, arrived in India within days of the blowout, which happened on March 12. The well control team was able to demobilize the jackup rig and safely move it from the area of the burning platform. The fire spread to two more wells, eventually collapsing the platform around the wells. Two additional jackup rigs have been mobilized to the area to begin relief well operations. Cudd Well Control will remain on location and coordinate the relief well efforts.
