Duffy & Mcgovern To Supply Technip, Transocean With State-Of-The-Art Offshore Accommodations

HOUSTON (March 23, 2004) - Duffy and McGovern Accommodation Services, (DMAS) the world's largest supplier of offshore accommodation cabins, has been awarded two contracts to provide offshore drilling workers with state-of-the-art accommodations.

Technip-Coflexip has extended its current contract with DMAS for a 12-month period to supply three eight-person units for a project in the Gulf of Mexico. The new, A60, fire-test-procedure (FTP) compliant units are ABS and U.S. Coast Guard approved with integrated fire detection, full ventilation and air-conditioning. The units also have en-suite bathrooms and are luxury outfitted to PLQ (permanent living quarters) standards.

The new units will accommodate workers on Technip-Coflexip's Deep Blue Vessel, servicing the deep water Shell Nakika project in the Gulf of Mexico. Technip-Coflexip required units that would meet specific DNV-class requirements and Duffy & McGovern was the only provider in the Gulf of Mexico that offered this level of safety without compromising comfort and versatility.

The second new contract is for Houston-based Transocean Inc. DMAS will supply Transocean with a high-specification, 20 x 8 ft. module to be utilized as a Zone 1 area for office space on its Transocean searcher. The module is compliant with the NORSOK Z-015 specification; the world's highest offshore classification for equipment.

"Our units are designed to provide operator comfort in extreme conditions, worldwide" said Glenn Aguilar, Duffy and McGovern vice president for U.S. operations. "We find that personnel comfort is equally as important as functionality in our offshore engineering cabins. For this reason, DMAS strives to offer integrated components such as air conditioning, high quality workstations and improved noise reduction, alongside prime safety precautions, all in one package, at a competitive price."

Transocean will use the new cabin to service its new Statoil contract on the Aasgard gas field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
