Eco-Tec Awarded Water Treatment System Contract By KCPL

Pickering, Ontario — Eco-Tec recently announced that it has recently been awarded the contract for the water treatment system by Kansas City Power & Light (KCPL) located in Kansas City, Missouri for their Iatan Generating Station Unit 2.

"Eco-Tec is extremely pleased to have been selected for this project" stated Mike Dejak, Eco-Tec President, "as it reiterates our commitment to innovative, advanced technology. We are proud to again be working with Burns and McDonnell, offering the best value systems that meet or exceed the client's requirements."

Burns and McDonnell of Kansas City, MO are the owner's engineers for the project, who evaluated multiple proposals for the supply of water to their super critical boiler (>3600 psi). Key considerations for this award are attributed to Eco-Tec's proprietary technology that enables the production of high purity water in a simple, reliable package, without the need for mixed-bed polishers.

The integrated water treatment components for this project include two trains of Spectrum Micro Media Filters™, Eco-RO™ and Recoflo® polishers which will result in a demineralized water quality of less than 0.1 µS/cm.
