Encoded B-Scan

For the EPOCH III Digital Ultrasonic Flaw Detector Panametrics designed the Encoded B-Scan Option for the EPOCH III to create the industry's first truly portable and affordable, digital ultrasonic flaw detector with full B-Scan capabilities and encoder compatibility. Encoded B-Scan enables this hand-held instrument to convert thickness readings into graphical, cross-sectional image profiles. These images illustrate and help users depict the internal structure of test materials. B-Scan also allows users to record important location information for thickness measurments such as Distance Traveled (DT).
The software supports scanning speeds of up to 6 inches per second at a screen update rate of 60Hz. Operators can select uni-, bi-, or manual directional movement controls and customize resolution. The Encoded B-Scan works in all measurment modes including Thru-Paint Echo-to-Echo measurements and can save up to 60,000 B-Scan readings in the EPOCH III's internal memory.
