EPE Launches The Study ‘Socioeconomic Impacts Of Ethanol Demand Scenarios Via The Input Output Matrix 2023 – 2032'

Following the line of studies that employs the methodology of the Input Output Matrix - IOM to assess the socioeconomic impact of fuel consumption, this study aims to contribute to discussions on the unfolding of the national energy policy, in a way that combines diversification and balance in the use of resources (fossil or renewable), ensuring security of supply and alignment with environmental policies.

This study contributes to the development and use of the model to support the RenovaBio policy, which encourages the use of biofuels in the national transport matrix.

The 2022 edition estimates the impacts on economic activity, income and employment up to the horizon of 2032, based on the contribution of the sugar-energy sector, and also contemplates the consequences on the import of gasoline A.
