Expro Group Acquires Kinley Corp., Extends Cased Hole Services

The Expro Group has extended its range of cased hole services available to the global market through the acquisition of Houston-headquartered Kinley Corporation. Kinley is a leading industry provider of mechanical multifinger caliper technology, designed to detect, measure, and monitor downhole corrosion, erosion, and deformation, and a range of specialized slickline power tools.

Kinley employs a team of engineers and technicians who manage, design, manufacture, test, and maintain an innovative range of downhole calipers and power tools, including wireline jars, cutters, and perforators. The company has a fleet of over 150 tool sets currently in circulation worldwide and, more recently, has completed the initial trials of a new digital caliper data system which will be launched later this year. In addition, Kinley maintains a global data interpretation center and fully equipped educational facility for client training. This facility includes a test well for the research and development of Kinley's own technologies as well as those of its clients and suppliers.

The Expro Group's Cased Hole Services business stream focuses mainly on the production phase of hydrocarbon recovery, combining the services that deliver downhole intervention or production enhancement. To date, this encompasses wireline technologies, explosive services, production logging, corrosion monitoring, data acquisition, fluids and sampling, well engineering/technology through EGIS (Expro Group Integrated Services), and the recently acquired Houston-based completion engineering business, Tripoint.
