Expro Group, FMC Technologies sign cooperation agreement

International oilfield services company, Expro International Group PLC ("the Expro Group") and FMC Technologies, Inc. have signed a global cooperation agreement which will integrate the supply of landing strings and intervention services for the global upstream market. The renewable three-year agreement will optimize the completion and intervention expertise of FMC Kongsberg Subsea and Expro's Subsurface Business Stream through the provision of combined planning, preparation, supply and installation of subsea Xmas trees, completions and subsequent interventions.

Working together, the two organizations will be able to provide market-leading technology and design capabilities in a cohesive single package. The agreement will draw on FMC Kongsberg Subsea's expertise in the design, development, manufacture and installation of Xmas trees, tubing hangers, production control systems, chokes and flow tie-ins and Expro's proven capabilities in the design, development and manufacture of completion landing string assemblies, data acquisition and clean-up packages. Benefits also include maximizing the use of both organizations' product and service portfolios to provide greater technology reliability to operators.

Robin Mair, Expro's Subsurface Business Stream Director, commented: "This three-year agreement has been finalized as a result of the good working relationship established between Expro and FMC in recent years. Clients will continue to benefit from the latest subsea intervention technologies from both parties with the added benefits of enhanced cooperation and flexibility within the package of services." He added: "The synergy created by the agreement brings together two major players in the subsea market to generate a step change in the provision of intervention services."

According to Tore Halvorsen, General Manager of FMC Kongsberg Subsea: "Expro's product and service line fits well with FMC Technologies' strategy of providing total system solutions, which is designed to add value to its customers' operations. We believe our alliance with Expro will be particularly beneficial for our customers' mission-critical completion and intervention operations."
