Expro reaches 1,000 ft Slickline Perforating milestone

International oilfield service company, Expro International Group PLC has successfully achieved the significant milestone of 1,000ft of production perforating in clients' wells using its Slickline Perforating System, which measures depth with accuracy of +/- 2ft.

The achievement has been met over a two year period during which Expro has perforated over 26 wells in the North Sea, Thailand, China, and the United States using slickline. In this time, Expro's unique system has been used by a number of major operators including Shell, BP, Phillips, ExxonMobil, Conoco, Unocal and Lasmo.

As part of a broader 'Slickline Revolution' initiative, Expro's use of slickline for reliable, accurate and cost-effective perforating has an undeniably successful track record that covers both on- and offshore (including remote) locations. The Group's Perforating System uses a hollow carrier or strip gun assemblies, as well as various combinations of wire types and sizes to suit any well or downhole condition.

Bob Will, Business Stream Director for Cased Hole Services, commented: "The milestone reflects two notable successes for Expro's suite of slickline products. Firstly, it indicates the unrivalled accuracy with which we can measure the depth of our perforating operations. And, secondly, it highlights the success of Expro's development and investment strategy of providing revolutionary slickline services to clients around the world."
