Fike Oil And Gas Expands Pressure Activation Device (PAD) Product Line
Fike announces the expansion of its standard Pressure Activation Device (PAD) product line offering. The PAD is a threaded rupture disc welded assembly that is used to actuate downhole tools in the upstream oil and gas industry. The original offering included stocked components with burst pressures from 1,000 psi to 14,500 psi in 500 psi increments. Fike has increased the standard burst pressure to 20,000 psi and made them available for immediate delivery.
"The drilling industry continues to drill deeper wells, which in turn requires tool activation at greater depths and higher pressures," explained Brent Hanson, Global Product Manager at Fike Corporation. "Fike is the original provider of PAD type products for Oil & Gas and we continue to lead the industry in making key product enhancements and technological advancements in pressure devices."
Specifically, the PAD-A disc is designed for activation from the annulus of the oilwelland the PAD-I is for activation from inside the tubing string of the well.The PAD discs are constructed of Inconel which provides a very low +/- 2% burst pressure tolerance and allows for the discs to be extremely stable under the varying temperature conditions experienced in downhole applications.
