Flare meters for Malampaya
On September 30th, Fluenta won a contract to supply five of its ultrasonic gas flare meters to Shell Philippines Exploration. The meters are sold through Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd. UK and are to be installed at Malampaya onshore gas plant in the Philippines. The meters are to be delivered on December 22, 2000. During the past year, Fluenta has won contracts to supply a total of nine ultrasonic gas meters to the Shell Philippines Exploration Malampaya project, at a total order value of NOK2.0 million

Fluenta has been investing in the Asian market for several years. An office in Kuala Lumpur, headed by Øyvind Bjørkhaug, was opened in 1998.

"These orders strengthen Fluenta's position as one of the world's dominant suppliers of ultrasonic flare gas meters," says Managing Director Dr. Øyvind Isaksen. Isaksen adds that Asia will continue to be an important region for the company.

The Fluenta FGM 130 Flare Gas Meter is based on a very strong and sound concept which is used extensively throughout the world. The Ultrasonic principle is accepted as the only solution proven to cope with the measurement challenge in a flare gas situation.
