The Gorilla Net is constructed of a weave of 9/16 inch combination cable at its opening with a body made of twine more than ten times the strength of a standard trawl net. The increased strength of the net's body allows it to contain debris that would tear standard nets. The net permits the debris to be removed from the ocean floor and disposed of properly. After Gorilla Net trawling is complete, the verification or standard nets can be pulled over the site in order to abide federal and state regulations.
The Gorilla Net was designed and patent by Jimmie B. Martin, Sr.
