Wet gas is a challenge to measure in a number of industries, including those with combustible gases that represent a safety hazard. In the laboratory, today’s air/gas flow sensors and measurement technologies operate at their highest accuracy and greatest reliability in air or gas free of moisture, droplets, particulates, etc. The real industrial world, however, is a much different environment, where moisture can be entrapped in one form or another in air or gas flow streams with variable gas compositions and flow rates.

Until now, accurate and reliable total phosphorus analysis was practical only in the lab. Recent technological developments now enable high accuracy total phosphorus measurement in near real-time, on-line, that reliably matches lab results.

Custody transfer in natural gas applications has traditionally been performed by mechanical devices, such as turbine meters, which are easily damaged by contaminants and high-flow velocities that stress the moving parts. Not only do these issues impact long-term accuracy and reliability, mechanical meters don’t offer good diagnostic data to ensure their health and performance, so there is no way to diagnose issues without offline calibration.
