Holmes Western Oil Company Selects Eco-Tec RecoPur Purification System

Holmes Western Oil Company in Taft, California, has chosen Eco-Tec Inc.'s RecoPur Produced Water Treatment System to filter and soften produced water from its oil operations.

The extraction of heavy oil involves the treatment of large volumes of produced water, which can pose water consumption and discharging concerns for companies. Holmes Western Oil Company looked to Eco-Tec for a highly automated recovery and purification system that could produce very soft water from high hardness waters, while consuming a minimum amount of salt for regeneration and creating a small amount of waste.

The RecoPur System for Holmes Western Oil consists of two Eco-Tec Spectrum Plus Micro Media Filters that remove oil and suspended solids to very low levels (98% removal of particles greater than 2 micron) and a RecoPur water softener featuring a short, packed bed of fine-mesh Strong Acid Cation (SAC) exchange resin. The technology has been well proven in a variety of industrial applications including the production of high purity water for power generation boiler feed.

As well, the system requires 60% less of a footprint than other options, representing lower construction and operational costs. It comes skid mounted, totally factory assembled and fully tested prior to installation.
