Gardline Surveys has been providing an integrated analysis of drilling hazards based on 3D and 2D seismic data for over 5 years. This has resulted in a department of interpretation geophysicists with extensive experience of projects from around the globe. This depth of knowledge, together with a considerable technical infrastructure within the company, has enabled us to become specialists in assessing 3D datasets.

Principal areas of operation in recent years include West Africa, N.W. Europe, the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Black Sea. Significantly, Gardline has gained considerable experience of datasets from varied depositional settings. These range from shallow water and shelf break regions to deep and ultra deep water sites. In the United States in particular we have been utilising our knowledge of 3D seismic data to provide drilling hazard reports for clients in the Gulf of Mexico. These reports were developed with, and fully approved by, the MMS and have provoked a very positive response from our clients.

Gardline operates the Geoquest Charisma and SMT Kingdom packages for the interpretation and integration of 2D and 3D seismic data. Both of these systems have a proven track record in this field of study and are well recognised throughout the petroleum industry. Interpretation can be undertaken in our Houston office or at our head office in the U.K. where a full range of charting, reporting and QC facilities are available.

Key aspects of the interpretation service include

  • Shallow gas hazard analysis.
  • Seabed and bathymetric information.
  • Attribute analysis.
  • Shallow soils studies for foundation, stability, and anchoring conditions.
  • Shallow water flow studies.
