Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas Announces Management Team Following Merger
Following completion of the proposed merger of Kerr-McGee Corp. and Oryx Energy Company Kerr-McGee has named the management team. Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas will be led by Kenneth W. Crouch, a corporate senior vice president, with the following reporting to Crouch: William H. Kaufman, currently vice president of Eurasia operations for Oryx and managing director of Oryx United Kingdom Energy Company, will become vice president and managing director of Kerr-McGee's UK operations. Kaufman holds a B.S. degree in geology from the University of Toledo and an M.S. in geology from the University of New Mexico. He has served in various positions at Oryx for 23 years.
David A. Hager, currently vice president of Gulf of Mexico deepwater development and technology for Oryx, will serve as vice president of Gulf of Mexico operations for the merged company. Hager graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. degree in geophysics and holds an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. He has 17 years of service with Oryx.
Kerr-McGee's vice president of the international region, Nick W. Atencio, will continue his responsibilities for production in this area. Atencio, who came to Kerr-McGee in May 1998, holds a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Prior to joining Kerr-McGee, he headed international operations for Apache Corp.
The vice president of business development, services and international production for Oryx, Patricia L. Horsfall, will become vice president of worldwide exploration. Horsfall is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.S. degree in geology and has an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. Her experience includes 17 years at Oryx.
David R. Kimes, Kerr-McGee's vice president and managing director of U.K. operations, will serve as vice president of domestic onshore. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa. He has been with Kerr-McGee since 1975.
Oryx's general manager of U.S. onshore/Gulf of Mexico shelf development and operations, James J. Kleckner, will be vice president of engineering services after the proposed merger. He has a B.S. in petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and has been with Oryx for 17 years.
This new organizational structure will be implemented after approval and completion of the proposed Kerr-McGee and Oryx merger, which was announced Oct. 15, 1998. The transaction is subject to approval by the shareholders of both companies, along with other customary closing conditions. Completion of the proposed merger is anticipated in the first quarter of 1999. The issuance of Kerr-McGee stock in the merger will be made only by means of a prospectus.
