Magnalight.com Adds Intrinsically Safe Fans To Explosion Proof Light Offering

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In hazardous locations, such as paint spray booths, manholes, refineries, shipyards and petrochemical based manufacturing, OSHA and local fire codes mandate the use of explosion proof fans and lighting. Larson Electronics LLC has added an explosion proof fan to its growing range of portable and surface mount explosion proof lights. Otherwise known as hazardous location ventilators, these fans pull fresh air into a small, confined space so that workers continue to get safe, breathable air while the overall concentration of flammable vapors and/or dust particulates is lowered. In some cases, these intrinsically safe fans are placed at opposite ends of a confined space, so that the ventilators bring fresh air in and exhaust stale air from the work area.

"The explosion proof fans are UL approved and work based on the same principles as our explosion proof lights," said Rob Bresnahan, President of Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com sales channel. "These intrinsically safe fans do not cause sparking and put off very little heat. As such, they are UL rated Class 1, Division 1 for Groups A, B, C and D and Class II, Division 1 for Groups E, F, and G. Our latest addition is a portable pneumatic fan which is powered by a compressor. Thus, there are no electrical connections required inside the hazardous location. We package this fan with a 25 foot static conductive duct, which is required by UL specification, since static electricity is another possible cause of explosions in hazardous location areas."

Rob continued, "We have added many new products for the hazardous location areas for both surface mount and portable implementations. As we add new products, we make them available for monthly rentals as well. Our explosion proof string lights are a popular rental item. Whether working with a shipyard engaged in a sand blasting project, a cabinet manufacturing plant or an oil rig, our growing range of explosion proof equipment can meet nearly all of their safety equipment requirements."
