Tantalum: CSF/TANCO mining operations is capable of producing approximately one quarter of a million pounds per year, making it, currently, the world's second largest tantalum mine.

All tantalum minerals are converted to either metal or tantalum compounds. The major uses for tantalum are in the electronics industry and for cutting tools. High quality capacitors are the major single use for tantalum.

Spodumene: CSF/TANCO is one of three major suppliers of graded spodumene (petalite) concentrates to the world market. Annual production capacity is approximately 24,000 tonnes.

Spodumene can be used either as a feedstock for the production of lithium carbonate and metal, or used directly in its mineral form in the glass and ceramics industries.
