The TT-100 is a versatile in-line rotational viscometer designed to operate in a fully-flooded system under pressure or vacuum
The TT-100 is a versatile in-line rotational viscometer designed to operate in a fully-flooded system under pressure or vacuum. Placed in-line in a product stream it transmits a linear 4-20 mA signal proportional to viscosity. The instrument's unique torque tube design enables it to discriminate minute changes in viscosity in laminar flow regardless of the dynamics of the process. The unique coaxial cylinder design (couette shear geometry) produces controlled shear rate and accurate viscosity measurement. Shearing action is produced in the annulus between two cylinders: a driven cylinder (rotor) and a stationary cylinder (stator).

Sensitivity
Highly sensitive measuring system is unaffected by environmental changes such as pressure, laminar flow or density.

Measurement unaffected by process pressure
Hydraulically balanced seals can be tailored to suit the application and, due to the unique design of the instrument, sealing pressures will not affect the angular deflection of the torque tube.

Minimum pressure drop
Pressure drop within the viscometer is similar to the inlet/outlet piping.

Operates continuously
The TT-100 rotational viscometer is continuously sensing and instantly responds to a change in viscosity. System lag time id directly related to sample flow rate.

Temperature compensation
This optional feature enables the instrument to present viscosity at a constant reference temperature while the temperature of the process may be varying.

Installs directly in-line or in a by-pass line
The instrument is constructed of material suitable for the application, including 300 series stainless steel. It can be supplied with threaded, sanitary and flanged fittings.

Rangeability
Measuring range can be altered with the instrument in-line by changing the span resistor or by an optional attenuator. Shear rate is varied by dismounting the motor and changing the gear box module. Also, both measuring range and shear rate can be field changed by substituting stators.

Options
Optional elliptical baffle (for highly viscous materials), 5A rotor (for special consistency measurements), serrated rotor (for certain slurries), and flushing capability are available.
