New land recording system released

Input/Output, Inc. has released its new I/O IMAGE land recording system. The system is said to be unique in its ability to fully integrate both cable- and radio-based seismic recording under a single control interface. The company has received orders for five new IMAGE Systems and seven upgrades to existing I/O systems. The first were shipped and installed in the fourth quarter of last year.

Some of the key features of the new I/O IMAGE System include:

  • Supports deployment of more than 10,000 channels
  • Integrates radio and cable systems under a single user interface for improved productivity and imaging in challenging terrain
  • I/O Line Express efficiently handles cable obstructions with off- end channels, line snaking, and redundant line connections
  • Integrates with industry leading software from GMG and Pelton for improved survey planning and source productivity.

Keith Elder, I/O Land Division's Systems Business Manager, said, "The I/O IMAGE System is another innovation that improves our customers' productivity and data image quality. IMAGE allows a more flexible survey design, density and configuration of recording channels, thereby improving the final seismic section that the client will see. It provides new productivity features to our existing installed base of nearly 400,000 MRX and RSR channels and is a solid platform for further ground and radio system enhancements."
