Oilfield Helping Hands Celebrates 20 Years Of Providing Aid To Oilfield Families

Oilfield Helping Hands (OHH), a non-profit organization helping oilfield families in financial crisis due to no fault of their own, is celebrating 20 years of providing support to industry families.

Gene Pate, chairman of the board, OHH, said, “We are so pleased to celebrate 20 years of working together to make a difference across the oilfield. OHH is dedicated to providing a hand up, and we are focused on the needs of our recipients through our vast fundraising efforts.”

Since 2003, OHH has given $5.9M to more than 1,000 industry workers and their families. What began as a small fundraising effort for a family facing unforeseen medical expenses, has grown into a national organization. OHH now includes five active chapters within the US oilfield community, including Appalachia (Eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia and Pennsylvania), Haynesville (East Texas and northwest Louisiana), Permian Basin (West Texas and eastern New Mexico), Rocky Mountain (Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming), and its flagship location, Houston.

Pate reflected on the organization’s anniversary, “It has been a wonderful 20 years. No one could have predicted that a small sporting clays tournament benefiting a single family would grow into what OHH is today. We appreciate each and every volunteer who has provided countless hours to expand our reach across the industry.”
